国際バカロレア（IB）は様々な国の学校をサポートし、教育を通じて世界平和を目指す国際NPOです。IBのカリキュラムの大きな目標は、異文化を理解し、国際人を育てることです。当スクールでも英語だけではなく、様々な体験をさせて、真の国際人の育成を目標としています。IBのプログラムは当スクールにとって大きな力になると思っています。
日本で初めての国際バカロレア認定校は1979年にできました。現在、日本で国際バカロレア認定校は102校あります。日本でPYPを提供している学校の数は54校あります。(2022)

The IB is an international organization which works with schools everywhere to try and improve the world through education. The programs are designed to help students understand other cultures better and become true international citizens. We felt this is what we have always wanted to work toward at our school. We focus not just on English but on having many experiences to try and help children become more understanding. We believe the IB program has a lot to offer our school.
The First IB Word School came to Japan in 1979. There are 102 IB World Schools in Japan now and 54 schools in Japan currently offer the PYP. (2022)

IB PYPは探究を中心に教育を進めます。ただスキルを教えるのではなく、様々なスキルや学問を使って、子供たちにとって興味のある物事をもっと知り、先生と友達と一緒に学びます。
PYPカリキュラムには6つのテーマがあります。Early Yearsでは、1年間で4つのテーマを選び年間プランを考えます。

The focus of IB PYP learning is giving students Inquiry based learning experiences. Instead of teaching children isolated skills, it focuses on encouraging them to ask questions and explore ideas that are interesting to them. With the teacher’s help, they use skills from all subject areas to pursue learning.
The curriculum is centered around six broad themes and all learning experiences we design for students should match these themes. In the Early Years setting, we choose four themes per year and plan our activities around these.
